Remote Sessions

Over the past 10 years I have recorded for well known labels such as Decca, Universal Music, Hyperion and Toccata Classics. Since 2017 I have recorded sessions remotely for composers and producers around the world.

Below are some examples of projects I have worked on for various composers and producers:

Harp EP

Matt Emery and I worked on Zoom on several harp parts that he has overlapped and reworked to make his latest EP W for Waves. See trailer below.

Library Tracks

For producer Dominik Johnson I have recorded a number of pieces of French music to be used as library tracks. Below is an example of an unedited audio take of an excerpt from Ravel’s Pavane pour une infante défunte.

Musical

In 2020 I was approached by Joe and Nikki Davison at Auburn Jam to record the harp parts for the musical Rumi written by Dana Al Fardan & Nadim Naaman. The project consisted of 23 cues each in their own Logic Project over four 3 hour sessions.

Video Game

Composer Laurence Chapman approached me to record his harp parts for the Inkle Studios video game Pendragon (released in 2020). We worked together via Zoom over a 4 hour session on a number of tracks. In 2022 I recorded the harp parts for his next video game, title to be announced. Edited example below.

Documentary

Composer Chris Roe and I have worked together on a number of documentary film projects including Mission Control and a docu-film about Formula One racing driver Jackie Stewart (example track below). Our most recent collaborations were for BBC’s WOLF (2023) and Netflix’s Robbie William’s Documentary (2023).

Sample Library

For producer Olajide Paris (based in Georgia) I helped create a sample library of notes on pedal and lever harps including techniques such as harmonics and étoufée thumb damps.

My set-up includes:

  • a pair of Josephson C42 microphones

  • Apogee Duet interface

  • Logic Pro X

I can record playing on one of the following 3 harps:

  • Lyon & Healy concert grand pedal harp

  • Lyon & Healy Ogden lever harp

  • antique Morley blade harp (for a more unusual timbre)

You are welcome to be present in the session via Zoom and I can screen share the Logic project as I record.

I charge Musician’s Union rates plus a small additional charge to cover equipment costs and set-up time. Wednesdays are my regular home session days - you can book a slot online below or drop me an email (olivia@15secondharp.com) to arrange an alternative day.
